Business Development Manager Land Freight
Location: Cork
Office Hours – Monday – Friday
Salary: €55k
Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager to grow on their strong existing customer base in the Munster region while maintaining great relationships to grown existing customers. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and take a proactive approach to deliver continued success in the role.
Role Requirements:
- Source, secure and develop new business while retaining and growing assigned existing customers
- Achieving sales and revenue targets
- Maintain a strong pipeline of potential customers
- Identify new potential clients and work with other areas of the business to submit competitive tailored proposals
- Work closely with Senior Management teams and other business areas to deliver feedback, updates, and developments
- Setting up customers on systems to include on line bookings
- On board new customers and ensure all new customers are provided with tariffs/rates
- Updating CRM with all new opportunities to review with Head of Sales and relevant business units
- Additional ad-hoc tasks assigned by Manager
Candidate requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding
- Minimum of 5 years proven sales track record of gaining new business and successfully working to and exceeding Sales Targets
- Excellent relationship building and networking skills
- Ability to prioritize, organize and manage time efficiently is essential
- Able to negotiate at a senior level
- Excellent commercial awareness skills
- Good communication, presentation and administration skills
