Role: Buyer – Food Production

Location: Dublin 12

Salary €45k – €48k DOE

Role Responsibilities:

• Building strong collaborative relationships with existing suppliers
• Sourcing and building relationships with new suppliers
• Sourcing and selecting new products to include attending international trade fairs and events
• Planning Buying Strategy for the Financial Year and setting Buying targets
• Setting product category margins and reporting on same
• Review product range and category performance
• Price negotiations, reporting results and maintaining product price files
• Responsible for Supplier performance whilst working closely with Supply Chain and QA teams to ensure full corrective action on any non-conformances
• Collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing and Production teams
• Reporting to the Purchasing Director

Candidate requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing of goods in the food sector
• Experience of successful supplier negotiations.
• A qualification in purchasing or another relevant field would be an advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills and effective communicator
• Ability to work in a multi task environment
