Role: Customs Clearance Specialist

Location: Dublin 11

Salary: €40k – €45k DOE 

Role Requirements: 

• Prepare and submit customs documentation for import and export shipments.
• Collaborate with customs officials, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance.
• Classify products according to customs tariff codes and determine appropriate duties and taxes.
• Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and tariffs, and provide guidance to clients and internal teams.
• Resolve any customs-related issues, such as tariff classification disputes or customs valuation discrepancies.
• Coordinate with transportation and warehouse teams to ensure efficient cargo movement and delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of customs transactions and documentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns related to customs clearance.
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance within the customs clearance process.

Candidate Requirements: 

• Previous experience as a Customs Clearance Agent or in a similar customs-related role.
• Strong understanding of Irish and EU customs regulations and procedures.
• Familiarity with customs tariff codes, duties, and taxes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in relevant customs clearance software and systems.
• Knowledge of international trade practices is a plus.
• Relevant certifications or training in customs clearance is desirable.
