Experienced Production Manager

Kildare, Full Time

Executive Talent are currently looking to recruit a Production Manager who will report directly to the Operations Manager. This is a very comprehensive role; the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of all production activities. The successful candidate will be required to drive continuous improvement and production efficiency whilst maintaining quality and health and safety standards. The Production Manager will be required to achieve and improve upon objectives in a number of areas including safety, quality, waste, efficiency, cost and people.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to use their initiative, solve problems, think strategically and achieve deadlines.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following: –

  • Full accountability for the end to end operation of the Production Department including all activities conducted, standards required to be achieved and the overall performance of the department
  • Ensure the quality standards of our products are maintained at all times
  • Ensure full audit compliance for BRC by monitoring and checking all agreed procedures are being adhered to daily
  • Ensure full Health & Safety compliance and engagement across the facility to build a Safety-First culture
  • Ensure all information recorded on the SAP system is entered in a timely manner and is accurate
  • Ensure all documentation and paperwork is kept up to date and maintained to a high standard
  • Motivate and support the Production Supervisors to achieve their objectives
  • Promote and adhere to Lean Six Sigma Principles
  • Prepare the weekly and monthly Production KPI’s then analyse and report the results
  • Monitor, analyse and report monthly operating results against budget
  • Provide production labour costings for production areas
  • Responsible for ordering some daily raw materials
  • Deal directly with some suppliers, as required
  • Stock control – review of variances and management of stock take process
  • Liaise closely with Supervisors across all shifts and production areas, ensuring adequate support and skills available in all areas including cover for annual leave
  • Develop and lead projects in the Production Department
  • Provide training and development and be able to motivate team members
  • Develop team members through coaching, delegation, performance reviews and cross training
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve work processes and methods to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Resolve any HR or disciplinary matters that arise within the department and issue disciplinary proceedings where necessary
  • Carry out weekly Hygiene inspections and issue corrective actions for Supervisors and Line Leaders

 

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • 5+ years production management experience  
  • Highly motivated individual with a passion to learn and progress in their career
  • Possess a dedicated, respectful, committed and positive work ethic
  • Possess suitable people management skills and attributes
  • Knowledge of and possess the ability to work with lean principles, including a strong ethos towards continuous improvement – Lean Six Sigma qualification is desirable
  • Passion for the health and safety of people, plant, equipment and the environment, and a desire to embed that culture widely across the facility
  • Must demonstrate excellent Leadership, Motivational and Interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage a production department on a 3-cycle shift pattern including weekends when required during peak
  • The ability to work closely within a team and also on own initiative
  • The ability to work within a multi-functional team
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure to meet targets and deadlines
  • A good understanding and experience of SAP software with the ability to train others in SAP
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Proficient use of MS Office i.e. strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills

The Role:

  • Hours of work will be Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm
  • Over time may be required at peak times of the season
