Facilities Technician

Celbridge, Full Time

The Facilities Technician will be responsible for managing the site facilities services, the maintenance and management of site plant and equipment, and the upkeep of the building and grounds, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard in line with Health and Safety, environmental and site security requirements. This is a hands-on role, which plays a key part in ensuring the smooth running of operations and the wider site.

 

Specific Duties:

 

  • Maintaining and repairing the building and associated equipment.
  • Ensuring fixtures and fittings are well maintained.
  • Ensuring warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet wrappers etc. are maintained in accordance with current H&S legislative requirements.
  • Overseeing site security arrangements and related service contracts.
  • Ensuring lighting and HVAC systems are operating correctly to provide adequate occupant comfort.
  • Managing all external contractors required for upkeep and maintenance of the facility including all related site health and safety requirements.
  • Overseeing the work performed by contractors and monitoring time and materials.
  • Ensuring the site facilities services schedule is adhered to by external contractors and in line with Health and Safety requirements.
  • Updating and maintaining of service and maintenance documentation on the server.
  • Ensuring that the facilities maintenance schedule is effective.
  • Adhering to and improving site Health and Safety standards.
  • Planning and overseeing any office or site renovations and related projects.
  • Establishing and promoting operational standards that promote energy efficiency and energy savings.
  • Communicating facilities performance to the Production Manager, Logistics Manager, head of Continuous Improvement & Operations manager and addressing issues as required at daily Production meetings.
  • Maintaining spend within budget.

 

Skills Required

 

  • Mechanical/electrical maintenance background.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of working in a busy facilities environment.
  • Experience of overseeing service contracts.
  • Experienced in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
  • Committed to contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and safety
  • Experienced in implementing a maintenance program.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in regulatory site inspections and audits.
  • Committed and hardworking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Positive can-do attitude.
  • An ability to work on own initiative.
