Freight Forwarder – Air Freight / Sea Freight

Location: Cork

Salary: €42k – €45k

Role Requirements: 

• Day to day support and supervision for all staff across various roles. Problem solving function covering Import, Export, Warehousing, Accounts and Quality.

• Identifying and evaluating prospects to win new business, primary focus on Air Shipments
• Identifying new opportunities with existing Customers
• Support the Internal Sales Team where necessary to generate quotations
• Ensuring compliance with Customs and Revenue for all declarations including monthly internal audits

• Analysis of import/export operations and implement changes to either process or to allow a sub-contractor to increase profitability
• Negotiate with sub-contractors to reduce costs
• Ensuring subcontract haulier agreements are in place with up-to-date driver training records, haulage licenses etc in line with department of transport procedures
• Review monthly profit reports and advise of any issues
• Responsible for creation and implementation of any corrective and preventative action forms
• Ensuring excellent customer service is maintained by all staff by reviewing all KPI’s and procedures both internally and externally regularly.
• Completion of Air Cargo Security audits
• Ensuring maintenance schedules are adhered to for all company vehicles and facilities.

Candidate Requirements: 

• 2 + years’ experience in Freight Operations preferably in air and ocean freight.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and reporting skills.
• Effective good time management skills.
• Attention to detail and achieving high personal standards
• The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Knowledge of customs procedures.
• Dangerous Goods certified.
