Health & Safety Officer

Dublin 15, Full Time

The principal objective is to protect the employees and third parties, recommending changes to protect and educate employees on how to prevent health and safety issues through the use of safety training programs. The individual will be expected to work with senior management throughout the business to ensure effective and compliant processes, systems and tools are in place to support the end-to-end business needs and their continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be required to develop programs in conjunction with HR and Senior Management. Such programs will be required to ensure the culture of Company is embraced at all sites. The objective will also be to foster an open and safe environment for employees to make suggestions for improvements or highlight areas of concern.

While the successful candidate will be responsible to co-ordinate all EHS activities in compliance with local laws it is expected that certain tasks will be delegated to site level with a view to ensuring engagement in EHS across the Group.

The role:

  • Assist in the day to day operation of EPA waste licenced facilities for the recovery of inert soil and stone
  • Sampling and assessment of sites from which inert soil and stone may be accepted
  • Compliance with all conditions of 4 EPA Licenced Inert Waste Recovery Facilities
  • Recording, documenting and reporting  the environmental performance of the licences/C&D
  • Liaise with all stakeholders including the EPA, Local Authority, Management, customers, contractors and staff
  • Track and trace imported materials for recovery
  • Assist in establishing Construction & Demolition permit  operation  throughout the company, achieving the highest standard of compliance and performance.
  • Setting the highest standard of environmental performance and compliance


Ideally the person will have an environmental qualification with some experience 

Full clean driving license required. Van provided

Key personal requirements

  • 2-3 years’ experience in similar role
  • Third level qualification in health & safety/environment
  • Full driver’s licence and willingness to routinely travel to other Group sites.
  • High level of computer literacy including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
