Assistant HR Manager – Hospitality

Role: HR Assistant Manager
Location: Dublin City Centre
Salary: €40k – €42k
Role Requirements:
- To manage the Human Resources function in accordance with established procedures, and in collaboration with the Group HR Manager, develop and improve these procedures where necessary.
- To support the communication strategy for employees.
- To assist the General Manager in preparing the weekly payroll.
- To oversee the administration of employee files, ensuring that an efficient filing and documentation system is maintained.
- To process new starters, leavers, and any amendments to the weekly and monthly payroll.
- To ensure the timely and accurate processing of the weekly payroll.
- To manage the internal system and ensure that necessary updates are implemented.
- To review and oversee the issuing of contracts, terms and conditions, job descriptions, handbooks, and other new starter documentation, ensuring that signed copies are retained on file.
- To monitor staff breaks and attendance, ensuring that managers take corrective actions as required.
- To ensure that all work permission documentation is up to date and on file.
- To assist in managing the appraisal system, ensuring adherence to the agreed procedure.
- To support the Group HR Manager with investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievance issues across the organisation.
- To ensure all employee queries are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
- To monitor staff turnover and take necessary actions to address any concerns.
- To manage employee absenteeism and attendance, liaising with Occupational Health as needed.
- In collaboration with the Group HR Manager, to compile, update, and distribute company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current best practices and employment law.
- To ensure all new employees receive a comprehensive induction and complete all required statutory training.
- To administer all online training platforms for staff development.
- To ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
- To plan the training needs of the business in consultation with the management team and Group HR Manager, and coordinate the implementation of this plan.
- To organise staff social events.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or similar required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Experience working in the hospitality industry would be a distinct advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage confidential information.
