Role: Financial Controller

Salary: €80k+

Location: Limerick City

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join an established investment and property-focused business based in Limerick.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and hands-on finance professional to take full ownership of the finance function within a successful business.

Role Requirements:

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function in a standalone role.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting analysis.
• Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
• Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, including reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare year-end financial information and liaise with external accountants, auditors and tax advisers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, tax and financial reporting requirements.
• Manage VAT returns and other relevant tax reporting obligations.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and payment processes.
• Monitor investment and property-related financial performance, where applicable.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Develop and maintain effective financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems and operational efficiencies.
• Act as the key point of contact for all finance-related matters across the business.

Candidate Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience preparing management accounts and financial statements.
• Experience managing a complete finance function, ideally within an SME or owner-managed business.
• Previous experience in property, investments, asset management or a related commercial environment would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Irish accounting and taxation requirements.
• Excellent Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide meaningful financial insights.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing competing priorities.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
