Role: Mechanic
Location: North Dublin

Role Requirements:
- Conduct diagnostics to identify vehicle issues.
- Perform routine maintenance on cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles (e.g., oil changes, brake checks, tyre fitting, etc.).
- Repair or replace defective parts and components (e.g., exhaust systems, timing belts, starters, alternators).
- Inspect and service engine systems, electrical systems, and transmissions.
- Use diagnostic tools and technology to identify faults in vehicle systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the workshop.
- Maintain accurate service records for all vehicles serviced.
- Ensure all work is documented, including parts used, time taken, and any follow-up requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other team members in the workshop to ensure efficient workflow.
Candidate Roles:
- National Craft Certificate (Heavy Vehicle Mechanic) or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar.
- Proven experience with diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of a range of heavy vehicles.
- Familiarity with vehicle inspection standards and DOE/NCT testing procedures.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and computer-based fault-finding systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for liaising with supervisors, drivers, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of electric or hybrid HGV systems.
- Trailer maintenance or tachograph calibration experience.
