Payroll and Accounts Assistant

Role: Payroll/ Accounts Payable Administrator

Location: North Dublin

Salary: €40k – €45k

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll for the group companies.
  • Ensure compliance with PAYE/PRSI/NIC/BIK/pension and other payroll regulations.
  • Prepare monthly and yearly payroll reports.
  • Handle payroll queries from staff, management, and authorities.
  • Track sick leave and statutory leave payments.
  • Complete CSO quarterly reports.
  • Supervise day-to-day credit control operations.
  • Manage credit accounts to ensure timely payments and adherence to credit limits.
  • Provide support on complex credit account resolutions.
  • Liaise proactively with customers and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Carry out credit checks and process credit applications.
  • Review debtor ledgers weekly and resolve unallocated receipts.
  • Support monthly debtors’ review meetings with the Financial Director.
  • Prepare monthly and yearly debtors’ reports.
  • Assist with account postings and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly accounts up to trial balance stage, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Reconcile monthly control accounts and make necessary corrections.
  • Prepare VAT, PAYE, and P30 returns.
  • Prepare CSO and other government statistical returns.
  • Process expense payments.
  • Prepare annual accounts backup for audit.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for Finance Director’s approval.
  • Provide backup support to the Group Financial Controller.
  • Advise staff on contract points and company policies.
  • Support the HR Department as required.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in payroll processing.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounts payable.
  • Proficiency in Sage Payroll or similar and strong IT skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Irish payroll and legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail and high numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
