The Role
- Liaise with customers and project managers
- Manage the end to end tendering and procurement process for all sub-contractors and suppliers ensuring a robust approach to commercial and cost management
- Review tender enquiries and tender analysis for projects
- Cost Management, ensuring the projects remains in budget
- Develop a suite of preferred partners for all disciplines, negotiating the best possible terms in the process
- Negotiate/Renegotiate best fit legal agreements with all 3rd parties
- Manage the budget exercising good cost control practices and driving maximum commercial value
- Contribute to the energy purchase process together with the EV Engineering Team
- Work in collaboration with project teams to identify, implement and monitor efficiency plans throughout the lifecycle of a project
- Management of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractors
- Preparing interim valuations, identifying and valuing variations
- Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of orders
- Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of jobs
- Manage project performance and report to management team
- Work closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as required
- Carry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast to keep the management team informed of project performance
What you need
- Hold Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
- Ability to work on large scale, high headcount construction sites & sub-contractors essential.
- Highly motivated hard-working individual who can work on their own or as part as a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Great communication skills both verbal and non-verbal
- 4+ years’ experience
- Process contractual claims and all associated records.
- Look for opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce cost and identify and investigate losses.
- Advise and support with project correspondence.
- Negotiating subcontract and suppliers’ prices and terms.
- Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner.
- Prepare subcontract and suppliers documents.
- Prepare and review monthly cost reports.
- Ensure risk registers, variation trackers and extension of time tracker sheets are reviewed and updated monthly
- Variations: measurement and pricing.
Who are we looking for?
- Liaise with Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager when dealing with internal stakeholders and client’s representatives while on site including attendance at meetings
- Strong time management skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of the construction industry and working on site
- Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
